Evergreen Lake, at the center of downtown, freezes reliably each winter and hosts a popular outdoor ice skating facility managed by the Evergreen Park & Recreation District. The trade-offs of Evergreen life are real: car dependency is total, winter road conditions require 4WD and snow tires, and the commute to Denver can be complicated by weather or I-70 traffic. But for buyers who have decided that mountain living is their priority, Evergreen offers the best combination of community infrastructure, Denver proximity, and authentic mountain character available in the region.
